Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how the Mindful Breaks application handles information. In short: it does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
Effective date: July 17, 2026 ยท Last updated: July 17, 20261. Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Mindful Breaks application for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch (the "App"), developed and published by Mahan Chennareddy ("we", "us", or "our"). It describes our practices regarding the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of information in connection with your use of the App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information. The App does not require or offer account registration, and we operate no servers that receive user data. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number, or device identifiers
- Health, wellness, or mental-health information
- Usage data, analytics, or diagnostic data
- Location data
- Contacts, photos, or any other content stored on your device
The App functions entirely offline and makes no network requests that transmit user information.
3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
To provide its features, the App stores the following information solely on your device, using Apple's standard on-device storage mechanisms:
- Mood check-ins, including mood selections, stress and energy levels, optional tags, and optional notes
- Exercise completion history, streaks, and derived progress statistics
- An optional display name you may enter, used only to personalize greetings within the App
- An optional 4-digit passcode, stored exclusively as a salted, iterated cryptographic hash (never in plain text)
- App settings and accessibility preferences
This information never leaves your device. We have no ability to access, view, or recover it.
4. How Information Is Used
The locally stored information described in Section 3 is used only to operate the App's features on your device: displaying your history and progress, personalizing greetings, securing the App with the optional passcode, and applying your preferences. Because we do not receive any of this information, we make no other use of it.
5. Sharing and Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any user information to third parties, because we do not collect any. The App contains no third-party analytics tools, advertising frameworks, or tracking technologies.
The App's Resources section lists publicly available crisis services (such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). If you choose to contact one, the App simply opens your device's phone or messaging application; no information about you or your use of the App is shared with those services by us.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Because all data resides on your device, you control its retention and deletion at all times:
- Check-in history is retained on-device up to a rolling limit of the most recent entries, after which the oldest entries are automatically removed.
- You may reset your local profile (including your name and passcode) from within the App at any time.
- Deleting the App from your device permanently deletes all data stored by the App.
We retain nothing, because nothing is ever transmitted to us.
7. Security
Data stored by the App is protected by the iOS application sandbox and your device's system-level protections (such as your device passcode and encryption). The App's optional in-app passcode is stored only as a salted, iterated cryptographic hash. No security measure is perfect, but because the App transmits nothing, your information is not exposed to network-based risks originating from the App.
8. Children's Privacy
The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by design, as no data collection occurs.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding personal data, such as access, correction, deletion, or portability (for example, under the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act). Because we do not collect or hold any personal data about you, there is no data for us to provide, correct, or delete; all such control rests directly with you on your device, as described in Section 6. If you have questions about exercising any privacy right, you may contact us using the details in Section 11.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if a future version of the App changes how information is handled. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last updated" date before they take effect, and described in the App Store release notes for the relevant version. The current version of the App collects no data.
